After its first public appearance at the 2019 Cebu Auto Show, the MG 5 launch is set to for its Metro Manila debut at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center from October 3-6, 2019. It joins the MG ZS, MG RX5, and the MG 6 fastback sedan in MG Philippines’ lineup.
The MG 5 is packed with a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine capable of producing 112 bhp and 111 lb-ft. of torque. It’s mated with either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
Inside, the MG 5 features a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system that can run both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a 360-degree vehicle view, which gives drivers a bird’s eye-view of the car to make maneuvering in bumper-to-bumper traffic and parking simpler. Power adjustable seat is available for the driver. Outside, it has auto on and off LED headlamps.
The 2020 MG 5 is available in the following four variants and corresponding prices:
- 2020 MG 5 1.5L STD 5MT: PhP 658,888.00
- 2020 MG 5 1.5L STD CVT: PhP 718,888.00
- 2020 MG 5 1.5L COM CVT: PhP 848,888.00
- 2020 MG 5 1.5L DEL CVT: PhP 938,888.00
To celebrate the MG 5’s Metro Manila launch, MG Philippines is mounting the latest leg of its ongoing free concert series, MG Live! Catch the young and hip IV of Spades on Saturday, October 5.
“We at MG Philippines have always regarded MG Live! as a celebration of the vibrance and the youthfulness of modern MGs, as well as the rich musical talent inherent in the Philippines,” says Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, President and CEO of TCCCI-MG Philippines.
Aside from the free concert highlight, MG Philippines will make the MG 5 as well as the other cars in its stable available for test drive. Patrons simply have to visit the MG Philippines display at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center from October 3-6, 2019 and schedule a test drive with their MG model of choice (last call for test drives will be at 5pm every day.)
