Celebrating Grupo Toyota’s 4th Quarter Meet

Grupo Toyota (GT) recently held its 4th quarter meet at the Toyota Manila Bay (TMBC) grounds. Over 300 Toyota’s of various models such as the the AE Corolla, Vios, Liteace, Fortuner, Hiace, Hilux, Previa, Corona, Altis, Echo, and Yaris trooped to the venue which they used for the first time. Hopefully, this would mark the beginning of a long-term partnership between GT and TMBC as this would further promote the automaker’s brand as well as providing an appropriate venue for the groups various activities. Part of the day-long activity included a demo of the 2019 Toyota Vios.

“Keeping true to the GT way of things, it was truly a family affair. Quite a number of kids and whole families joined in the day’s activities as TMBC thoughtfully provided a play area for the kids, and food vendors for the kids at heart. Members even received gifts and prizes from various sponsors,” said GT’s Jill Elicano-Tan.

What started out in 2003 by a bunch of friends with a common interest and a family atmosphere has become one of the most premiere all-Toyota groups. With at least 500 active members locally and a hundred located in the Middle East and North America, this is further reinforced with 17,000 members on their GT Facebook group page.

The group holds different activities aimed at enhancing driver skills to become a competitive and safer driver while it also participates in donation drives and other charity events.

The club also has a GT Racing team as some members actively compete in the FlatOut Race Series (FORS) and the Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS).

Wonder what sets GT apart from other similar groups?

“Grupo Toyota is more than a club, it’s a family.  Even when members lay low because of family or work obligations, when they become active again later on with their families, additional family cars, Toyota or not, they are welcomed back with open arms because of the family atmosphere,” added Elicano-Tan.

Grupo Toyota would like to thank Hazardboy Performance Parts, Toyota Manila Bay, Detail Plus, Prautotype Auto Restoration, Runstop High Performance Rotors, Fabrix Eco Filter PH, X-1R Philippines, Klassic Car Care Center, OEM Auto Fab Accessories, JP Wheels Center, Carbon 101, Lights Up Car Accessories, and Quickstart Performance.
