The Volkswagen Santana gets new features for 2021

The Volkswagen Santana was brought into the Philippine market to be an entry point to the German carmaker’s brand cache. For 2021. VW Philippines continues to offer its subcompact sedan at a relatively affordable price, albeit with more features.

While the overall look and profile may still be the same, it now sports automatic headlights with Leaving Home and Coming Home function. The top-spec Santana 180 MPI AT SE variant adds rain sensing wipers and a sunroof for a more premium vibe.

The interior gets all power features, as well as front and rear reading lamps, leather and fabric seat upholstery, multi-function steering wheel with cruise control, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth capability for the 180 MPI AT SE. Buyers can also opt for the 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

This being a Volkswagen, it gets dual SRS airbags, ABS, Electronic Stabilization Program, and Anti Slip control for the 180 MPI AT S. The higher trim SE adds side airbags for driver and front passenger, as well as rear park distance control that provides ease when backing into tight spaces.

Powering the 2021 VW Santana is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with BlueMotion technology that produces 111bhp and 107lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed AT, it promises frugal fuel consumption while putting out adequate performance.

All this is backed by a 3-year or 100,000km warranty and a 10,000km service interval. This makes for total peace of mind.
