Ferrari Challenge debut for Talbot at LeMans

Blancpain Endurance Series regular Liam Talbot will debut in the Ferrari Challenge Series at LeMans this month. Continuing his partnership with Swiss based Kessel Racing, Talbot will compete against a full field at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe. The Ferrari Challenge Series sees cars closer to the spec of the road going 458 that are produced as a track-only racecar with reduced weight , thinner body panels, carbon fiber replacement panels and polycarbonate windows and windshield. As the world’s oldest active sportscar race, LeMans holds a special place in the annual motorsport calendar and is widely considered a pinnacle of international motorsport, with major automotive marques competing fiercely for top honors. For Brisbane based Talbot, LeMans is a long way from his humble beginnings club racing in Queensland. Talbot feels up to the challenge as this is his second year competing in the support race at the LeMans circuit having raced there last year with Aston Martin. The 84th running of the 24 Hours of LeMans will take place from 15th – 19th June 2016.
Team comments: -Liam Talbot (Team Driver LTR) – The opportunity to race at LeMans is just one too good to pass up, I still hold the singular goal of competing at LeMans in LMP2 and this provides valuable experience towards that goal. – Having the support of the team at Kessel made this an easy decision, even though I’ll have to keep in mind the difference in aero compared to the GT3 version!  -David Hardman (Team Director LTR) – The goal of racing in a LMP2 car is one tthe team at LTR have been clear about from the start. This is yet another opportunity for Talbot to get familiar with this challenging high speed course. ENDS
