4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team achieves two second-place finishes at Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championship
The 4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team powered by BRT and Racing Force snagged two second place finishes at the Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championship held at Clark International Speedway last June 3 and 4.
Both Herbert Lopez and Mark Djereck Ondillo were the big winners in the 150CC Underbone King and 115CC Underbone Riding Mega Force races in this second leg of the Motorsports Championship–a big leap over their finishes in the last leg of the series held in Batangas last April.
Team manager Ronald Uy said the team’s strong finish can be attributed to the quality of the custom parts used and the passion of the riders.
4S1M brought along a diverse range of parts from their sponsors that included the 4S1M-branded fuel-injected engines that powered the 150CC Sniper motorbikes and the 160CC Mio scooters. These were complemented by Replica PRO racing mufflers, Nissan brakes and brake pads, custom Racing Boy grips, FDR tires, G@z-I dampeners and suspension, and many more.
“The team had many sleepless nights preparing and finely tuning the parts for maximum efficiency. We became meticulous in preparing for the race. Since first day, the 4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team put their focus on testing each racing rig to achieve the motorbikes’ optimum performance,” said Chief Mechanic Joji San Victores.
The qualifying rounds of the first day saw good performances out of the racing team, with Uy pointing out the difficulty the team encountered in positioning.
When the rainy second day rolled in, Lopez and Ondillo both snagged second place against tough competition as the duo mounted the podium for the first time this season to take home trophies and much-vaunted points toward the season’s tally.
“This will serve as motivation to push us to more wins throughout the rest of the season,” said Lopez.
