Aluporter Group Inc., a Cebu based company specializing in premium aluminum boat design and building, recently opened the first Suzuki Marine 3S Shop in Cebu at the Porter Marina compound in Liloan town. The facility boasts of wide berthing spaces suitable for a wide variety of commercial and leisure crafts for repair or for maintenance. They also recently added a fuel station.
The partnership between Suzuki Philippines, Inc.(SPH), and the Aluporter Group comes at the right time when the boat building industry is growing rapidly, particularly in the development of tourism in the Philippines. According to Ms. Jessica Barbier, president of Aluporter Group, Inc., the industry continues to grow steadily as demands for boats to ferry tourists remain constant in the market. With chronic traffic congestion in many parts of Metro Cebu, travelling by sea is the best option for the public, she added.
The newly opened Suzuki Marine 3S Shop offers the full lineup of Suzuki Outboard Motors for a variety of applications. Peace of mind is all but guaranteed with readily available spare parts and highly trained technicians. After all, the 3S in Suzuki Marine 3S Shop means Sales, Spare Parts and Service. It is a one-stop-shop concept that aims to deliver all the Suzuki Marine needs of each customer. The newly opened shop in Liloan, Cebu is the second Suzuki Marine 3S Shop in the country, the first one is located at the beachfront of Brgy. Union, Nabas, Aklan.
Before the opening ceremonies, Aluporter and Suzuki employees conducted a clean up drive at the docking area of the marina where they collected several sacks full of trash, mostly plastic. Some of the plastic trash were placed inside a killer whale shaped sculpture named “Willy” to convey a powerful message about the degradation of our marine ecosystem, where each single-use plastic that we throw away will somehow find its way to the ocean, and inevitably to the stomach of its hapless inhabitants. As a company whose business is tied to the ocean, Ms. Jessica Barbier felt that it’s their corporate responsibility to instill conservation and preservation among their workforce and the surrounding community.
Present during the opening were Aluporter Group Inc., executives headed by Mr. Edmund Porter, CEO of Aluporter Group, Ms. Jessica Barbier, President of Aluporter Group, and Suzuki executives headed by SPH President Mr. Akira Utsumi, SPH Managing Director Mr. Norminio Mojica, General Manager After Sales, Service and Marine Division Mr. Tamotsu Shimizu, and Sr. Sales Supervisor Marine Department Mr. Yuhei Doi.
