With the current pandemic taking its toll on business activity and the economy, there are still some entities and organizations that are slowly bouncing back after the lockdown was eased. Among these is the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, which reported an almost 200 percent rise in sales last June.
From a low of 1,239 units during the month of May, AVID members were able to sell 3,697 units for the month of June. This equates to a 198 percent rise in overall sales.
Yet the situation is still very volatile, says AVID. The rising number of COVID-19 cases, as well as the uncertainty in consumer demand could still dampen sales in the coming months. Plus, overall consumer confidence is still building up as buyers are still quite scared to really put themselves out there.
For now, however, AVID members and the rest of the auto industry are doing its best to try and boost consumer confidence amid these trying times.
