The Toyota Yaris gets an aesthetic and interior upgrade at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show after the automaker debuted the Yaris TRD Sportivo. Touted as a new variant, the Yaris TRD Sportivo gets additional exterior features, a two-tone interior and an uprated infotainment system.
Starting with its front fascia, it gets a black grill, along with a silver front lip spoiler. Moreover, its headlights now have integrated daytime running lights (DRLs).
Towards the side, more silver treatment can be seen on the side skirts and roof rails. Also seen are TRD black alloy wheels and blacked-out wheel arches and mudguards. The rear relatively carries over apart from the addition of the silver rear lip spoiler and ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging.
Inside, the interior gets a predominantly black and orange cabin. The seats are upholstered in leather while additional ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging were also placed inside the car.
In terms of infotainment, the TH-spec Yaris’ 1-DIN head unit has been replaced with a 2-DIN seven-inch touchscreen system. It supports CD, DVD, SD card and Bluetooth functions, as well as a monitor for the reverse camera.
Under the hood, the TH-spec Yaris is powered by the 1.2-liter 3NR-FE inline-four that is mated to a CVT. With Dual VVT-i in play, the engine generates 86 PS at 6,000 rpm along with 108 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
