Bentley’s Crewe factory screeches to a halt amid COVID-19 pandemic

As the world today slows down due to the dreaded Corona virus, more companies such as Bentley Motors suspend production at its Crewe, England factory for four weeks.

The shutdown began on March 20, 2020 and is expected to last until April 20. This means deliveries of Bentley motor cars will be delayed and sales targets will be greatly affected. Having said that, the British luxury automaker did say that core business operations will still proceed despite the suspension.

Key business areas will still remain open, with some workers required to report to the Crewe headquarters. Most other members of the workforce, meanwhile, will be allowed to work remotely while all meetings will be done via video conferencing. As for business travel and events, these will be postponed or canceled altogether.

It’s a tough time for the auto industry all over the world, not to mention the world as a whole. Yet with everyone’s cooperation in helping combat the dreaded virus, it is hoped that we will see an end to this crisis real soon.
