Chevrolet has revealed two new concepts to explore personalization options for their compact and midsize offerings. Called the Blue Line Concepts, both the Cruze and Malibu RS models with the special package will be presented during the 2016 SEMA Show.

“The Chevrolet Blue Line Series concepts integrate accessories that offer greater personalization choices for customers. Each vehicle wears production and concept accessories thematically linked under the Blue Line Series banner. We look forward to gauging public reaction at the SEMA Show and other venues,” said Roger McCormack, director at Accessories and Performance Parts Marketing, Chevrolet.

For the Malibu Blue Line concept, it rides lower than the standard model thanks to a set of lowering springs. Exclusive to this concept is the Genesis White exterior paint that is accented by by 18-inch concept wheels finished in Slate Blue Metallic. The bow-tie emblems are painted black, along with the grill insert. Other features installed on the Malibu Blue Line include: ground effects kit with rear diffuser, rear spoiler, floor liners with metal badging, illuminated door sills and a sport pedal kit.
Under the hood, the Malibu is driven by the new 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoTec inline-four that pushes out 250 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque. It is then mated to a newly-developed 9-speed automatic gearbox. Completing it all is a Chevrolet Performance brake kit.

Also finished in Genesis White, the Cruze is equipped with following: chrome grill insert, suspension lowering kit and performance grade brakes, air intake and exhaust system. The brakes will be available by the end of 2016 while the air intake and exhaust kit will only be available by mid-2017.

Chevrolet has yet to provide interior images of the cars but the manufacturer did say it gets blacked-out cabin. It is then spruced up by graphite satin accents on the instrument panel, shift knob and door inserts. Also present are the sport pedal kit and illuminated door sills courtesy of Chevrolet accessories.

Driving the Cruze Blue Line concept is the all-new 1.4-liter turbo inline-four that delivers 153 HP and 177 lb-ft of torque. Production models are available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
The Blue Line Concepts will be joined by 20 other vehicles at this year’s SEMA Show.
