BMW Philippines launches the 520i Luxury

A luxurious upgrade of the embodiment of style and practicality has arrived in the Philippines. With a heightened sense of outward authority, an interior brimming with detail refinements, and cutting-edge innovations, the new BMW 520i Luxury is here to cement its position as a sporty, efficient, and progressive addition to the premium end of the executive class.

BMW Philippines is elevating its premium offerings in the market with the launch of the new BMW 520i Luxury. The new 5 Series comes to the Philippines as a sole variant, retailing at 4,290,000.

The 520i Luxury receives a restyled twin-kidney grille with extra width and height, and it now drops down further into the bumper while being framed by a single-piece surround. The front also gets a pair of updated, slimmer headlights to complement the new grille. New features include Adaptive LED bulbs with High-beam Assistant and an adaptive cornering function. At the rear, redesigned L-shaped graphics and black borders don the taillights to complete the exterior update of the new 5 Series.

Inside, the 520i Luxury comes with BMW’s Comfort Access system, offering a convenient way to lock and unlock the vehicle. This includes a Kick Function to load and unload items from the trunk. For added opulence, all four doors are equipped with Soft Close function.

Seats are wrapped in Dakota Leather, which is complemented by an Ambient Lighting Package and a 4-Zone Automatic Air Conditioning system. Other interior pieces include an open-pored fine wood interior trim and pearl chrome finisher, as BMW calls it.

For entertainment, the 520i Luxury receives a new 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster Display with BMW Live Cockpit Professional in Operating System 7.0, which of course comes with BMW Gesture Control. These features are paired by a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon surround system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities.

Under the hood of the sole variant of the BMW 5 Series for the country is an inline-4 petrol engine that comes with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, which is then connected through the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. BMW claims that it can run from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It has a maximum power output of 183 bhp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and a peak torque rating of 214 lb-ft at 1,350 – 4,250 rpm.
