Chery Scores Big Wins at 8th PIMS

Chery, the Chinese automotive brand relaunched locally in 2019 by United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the local parent company of Foton, scored two major wins at the 18th C! Awards. The awards were presented to Chery top management on September 15, 2022; the first day of the long-anticipated 8th Philippine International Motor Show, for their outstanding Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T (Best Mid-Size Crossover) and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV (Best Hybrid). Both Chery vehicles were stacked against very formidable contenders, and their respective wins was no easy feat. These awards are a testament to how far Chinese vehicles have come in terms of design and, more importantly, engineering. To pull off such an achievement is nothing short of remarkable.

The awarding of the two C! Awards coincided with the launch of the latest version of the Tiggo 8 Pro: the Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0 Turbo. This augments the current Tiggo 8 lineup (1.6 Turbo and PHEV). With a new 2.0 turbocharged motor under its long, wide hood, the latest iteration of the Tiggo 8 Pro makes 254 hp and 390 Nm, a staggering increase of 59hp and 100 Nm from the 1.6 Turbo model. From these figures, it seems safe to assume that the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T will be an early contender for next year’s C! Awards!

Come and see the award-winning Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T, 8 Pro 2.0T and 8 Pro PHEV at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show this weekend. They may just win your hearts, too.
