Despite the odds, 2020 was a good year for Geely PH

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the year 2020 wasn’t exactly a good year for all, if not most of us. The coronavirus pandemic and lockdown have wreaked havoc on the economy, health, and lives of countless people. Despite this, many still survived and are looking forward to brighter days ahead. One of these is automaker Geely Philippines.

It was one of the car companies that launched key models for the year 2020. One was the Azkarra that rolled out in April and offered a premium vibe in the compact crossover class. The other was the Okavango that came out in October. This one served up 7-seter MPV versatility in a midsize crossover shape.

Then there were sales. The erstwhile Coolray continued to prove how much of a crowd favorite it is, begging the best selling subcompact crossover spot for 3 months last year.

Speaking of the Coolray and Azkarra, these two models garnered top honors from prestigious automotive publications such as Carguide, Auto Focus, and C! Magazine.

And yes, Geely’s dealership network continued its growth last year. Sure, it wasn’t as quick as Sojitz G Auto Philippines had hoped. Yet it still managed to roll out new facilities in Quezon Avenue, Imus, Cavite, Lipa, Batangas, General Santos, and Cagayan de Oro. Geely says that if all goes well, 21 new facilities will be added in the months to come.

So yes, Geely Philippines does have reason to celebrate as it not only braved the storm but came out smiling.
