It looks like Ford Philippines is on a roll. After the recent unveiling of the F-150 full-size pickup, the Blue Oval brand has just announced that it will be launching an all new compact SUV real soon. We refer to the all-new Ford Territory.
Those who know their cars may have heard this nameplate before, hailing from the Land Down Under. But Ford PH says that the Territory it intends to offer in our market comes from China. It’s a compact crossover that’s aimed at individuals and small families with active lifestyles looking for a stylish and feature-packed ride that’s competitively priced. It will slot above the EcoSport and replace the discontinued Escape.
While Ford has not revealed any engine specifications just yet, we can surmise that it would come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder mill—just like what it serves up in the Chinese market. Moreover, this would make it eligible for the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement, which gives tax exemptions to vehicles with engine displacements of 1.5-liters and below.
Ford Philippines will be the first market which will offer the new Territory under the International Marketing Group. This new organization consists of 100 markets around the world.
Expect to see the new Ford Territory hit our market this August. So, what do you think of this new compact crossover?
