If there’s a silver lining in this whole coronavirus crisis, it’s seeing a lot of companies coming out and lending a hand to help stem the tide. One of these firms is Petron Corporation, which has quite a few programs in store for frontliners during this critical time.
Petron Corporation, through Petron Foundation, has opened up a donation drive to help frontliners and different hospitals in their fight against COVID-19. Petron Value Cardholders can donate their points to fund the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment, face masks, and relief goods for healthcare workers and frontliners.
To donate, simply text DONATE<space>COVID19<space>16-DIGIT CARDNUMBER<space>AMOUNT and send to 0917-567-1111 with no minimum amount required.
These goods and equipment will be distributed to the Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital, Jose N Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and Sanitarium San Lazaro Hospital—the designated COVID-19 centers as per Department of Health directive.
In line with this, Petron donated an initial P1 million to kickstart the donation drive. Plus, it gave out Petron Value Cards to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers and frontliners as a sign of its appreciation for their efforts and sacrifices in fighting the dreaded virus.
Apart from this, Petron has also donated free fuel to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Department of Transportation for the use of shuttle services ferrying frontliners and healthcare workers to and from their respective assignments.
Hopefully, efforts such as these would go along way in fighting the spread of COVID-19.
