As the country gears up for Election Day on Monday, May 9, 2022, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has a few traffic-related announcements to make to help motorists this election weekend.
First off are the slew of Meetings De Avance that will take place in different parts of the Metro. With these events come road closures and all sorts of re-routing measures to accommodate crowds attending. These events are set to take place in Makati, Manila, Paranaque, and other places of the Metro. To learn more about where these will take place, what streets have been closed, and where to pass, visit the MMDAs official Facebook page for more details.
And on May 9, Monday, the MMDA will suspend the Modified Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Scheme to allow citizens to cast their votes freely without having to worry about the usual 5pm-8pm travel restrictions for vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2.
So be advised of the traffic re-routing and coding suspension this election weekend.
