It looks like there is a bit of a bright spot amid the coronavirus outbreak as Honda Cars Philippines Inc. welcomes its new President, Mr. Masahiko Nakamura, who will take over the reigns from the current HCPI President, Mr. Nonyuki Takakura, effective today, April 1, 2020.
Mr. Nakamura is no stranger to Honda or the auto industry as he has some 30 years of experience under his belt. The last four years alone have seen him being involved in sales, business strategy, and marketing while taking on deputy general manager roles at the Honda Motor Company headquarters in Japan.
Now, it’s time to take on a new role, this time leading the Japanese manufacturer’s Philippine arm towards greater heights. While the task is already a challenge in itself, it is made even more difficult with the current lockdown situation and overall slowdown of markets both locally and abroad. Still, Mr. Nakamura is confident he will be able to “steer Honda’s automobile business through a challenging and evolving landscape.”
To Mr. Takakura, who will be taking on a new position at Honda Automobile Thailand Co Ltd, we wish you Godspeed!
To Mr. Nakamura, congratulations and the best of luck on your new endeavor.
