The RX is the model that began the whole crossover movement at Lexus. Now, the erstwhile nameplate enters its fifth generation with the debut of the 2023 Lexus RX.
While the look may be familiar, Lexus says there are styling bits–like the new Spindle Grille, body panels, and accents–that freshen things up. The biggest change, however, is what’s underneath.
Riding on the GA-K p[latform, the new RX comes with a host of engines–most of them being hybrids. There are a pair of 2.4-liter turbo furs that produce either 274- or 367bhp, or a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter mill making 246bhp. These will be in either FWD or AWD.
Apart from the new engine options, (which does not include a V6), the new RX likewise boasts a longer wheelbase. This equates to more passenger room for added comfort. There is also a centrally-mounted infotainment display that sits lower and can be spec’d up to 14 inches.
This being a Lexus, it comes with Safety Sense 3.0 that includes tech such as intersection support, curve curve speed management, and motorcycle detection (very useful over here), just to name a few.
The 2023 Lexus RX will arrive later this year. No word yet on when Lexus Philippines will bring it to our shores.
