Continuing its upward trend since 2013
2017 is looking extremely well for Bermaz Auto Philippines (BAP), the official distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the Philippines. The end of July has seen the brand break sales records, continuing their constant rise in sales and interest for the Japanese manufacturer.
With a sales figure of 418 units for the month of July, this has been the 6th month since January this year that Mazda Philippines has broken its own monthly sales record. Ever since BAP took over distributorship in 2013, they have exceeded their own quarter-over-quarter sales performances, with, to date, 2,521 units sold, making it a 14.5 percent improvement over the same period last year.
Strongly encouraged by the market’s demand for Mazda vehicles, Steven Tan, president and CEO of BAP had this to say; “Our total sales performance since January 2017 is the best it has ever been since BAP began its operations. We are looking forward to a continuous push for the second half of the year as we aim to again exceed our targets. Our latest Kodo: Soul of Motion-inspired and SKYACTIV Technology-equipped models launched only recently have been instrumental in reinvigorating the Mazda badge and establishing our position as the premium Japanese brand.”
Since the reveal of the CX-5 and CX-9 SKYACTIV 2.5-Liter Turbocharged 7-seater crossovers at the 2017 Manila International Autoshow held last April, both vehicles have been followed by strong demand, with a shipment of 800 units coming in August for the CX-5, and 300 units coming in the same month or the CX-9. The much-anticipated Mazda MX-5 RF was also revealed in the same month, with total sales reaching 113 of the two-seater coupe, 85 of which are RF variants. The Mazda 2 sub-compact sedan also had some updates with G-Vectoring control and new design specifications since June of this year.
Those looking at purchasing a Mazda can expect all dealerships to run the Zoomfest promotion for select models up to August 31, 2017 offering discounts and deals for select models in cooperation with EastWest Bank.
