As if on cue, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S in sedan and wagon come out almost at the heels of the updated BMW M5 and M5 Competition. So what do the new performance midsize sedan and long roof Merc have to offer?
Visually, they gets a new front fascia with the updated grille, revised side vents, a more pronounced rear lip spoiler, quad trapezoidal exhausts, and 20-inch alloy wheels. There are also new colors that include Graphite Grey Metallic, Cirrus Silver Metallic, and Brilliant Blue Magno.
The highlights of the cabin are the new MBUX interface screens that make their way here, along with the twin-spoke steering wheel that is heated and leather-wrapped. The wheel can also be had in Dinamica Microfiber, or both. Mercedes even says the driver can practically control the whole car with the plethora of buttons on the wheel.
Just like the updated M5, the E63 S is still powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 603bhp and 627lb-ft of torque. Paired with the AMG Speedshift 9-speed DCT driving all four wheels, it blasts the sedan from 0-100km/h in 3.3 seconds while the wagon does the same in 3.4 seconds.
The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S sedan and wagon should be out within the year.
