Porsche Asia Pacific marks the end of 2021 on a motorsport high with the Gran Turismo Cup Asia Pacific that saw the best of the best going up against each other in an exciting run to the checkered flag.
The event brought together racers from Porsche’s Asia Pacific arm, as well as from Porsche Japan, Porsche South Korea, and Porsche Taiwan. These racers went up against each other on virtual tasks such as Fuji Speedway, Goodwood Circuit, Mount Panorama Circuit, and the Circuit de Sarthe. The last one was where the German sportcar maker won the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans a record 19 times.
With e-gaming and virtual racing becoming more popular nowadays, especially with the pandemic, Porsche has teamed up with tech and gaming companies such as Sony International Entertainment’s Polyphony Digital Inc to serve up Porsche Gran Turismo. This game brings the Porsche experience to the world of virtual racing.
In the end, Tatsuya Gugawara from Japan took the top step of the podium. He received an all-expenses-paid Porsche Weekend, which included a trip to the Porsche Experience Center in Tokyo.
With this, Porsche Asia Pacific looks forward to more events such as this in 2022.
