Renault-Nissan joins 200 international companies in promoting global sustainability
Upon becoming the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the Renault-Nissan alliance joins 200 international companies in promoting global sustainability.
The move by the pair of automotive companies is a sign of their commitment towards sustainability as they believe that sustainable decisions will yield more innovations over time. While primarily focusing on developing cars for the future, Renault-Nissan’s aim is to develop products that will improve society by increasing mobility for all and address significant safety and environmental challenges.
Peter Bakker, WBCSD’s President and CEO said, “As we move toward the low carbon economy, it’s imperative that we have strong and forward thinking leaders in the automobile sector. We look forward to working with Renault-Nissan Alliance to deliver the business solutions that will address serious global challenges, and hope they will create new global benchmarks for more sustainable car companies.”
The Renault-Nissan Alliance shares the Council’s objective to advance sustainable business around the world, with an aim to play a key role in the creation of a sustainable future for the nearly 200 countries it currently operates in.
