Rolls-Royce Bespoke looks to pulsars to create the timeless Phantom Tempus Collection

The folks at Rolls-Royce once again look to the stars for inspiration. More specifically, Pulsars for its latest Bespoke creation, the Phantom Tempus Collection.

You immediately see the theme from the outside with a Kairos Blue paint scheme with mica flakes that mimic pulsars—those white hot stars that give off electromagnetic radiation in pulses.

Beyond the geek-speak, however, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus Collection is all about creating a timeless design. It begins by removing the clock from the dashboard. Not only does this allow occupants to leave the world and its ticking seconds behind. It likewise creates a unique dashboard design.

The Frozen Flow of Time Gallery features a single billet of aluminum that has been hand polished and anodized to highlight 100 individual columns. This allows it to project an illusion of flexing and rippling when light is thrown at it.

That light may come from the equally unique Starlight headliner that is woven using a plethora of fiber optic lighting pieces to form a night sky filled with pulsars.

Other unique touches include a Tempus Champagne Chest with hand-painted pulsar artwork housing thermal chilling flasks, as well as 4 crystal Champagne flutes. There is also a plaque in the glove compartment bearing a description of the car’s Gallery, as well as sir Albert Einstein’s famous quote, “The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion”.

Only 20 examples of the timeless Phantom Tempus Collection will be made.
