Rolls-Royce posts 49 percent sales growth in 2021

It was a record year for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in 2021 as the British ultra-luxury carmaker posted sales of 5,586 units. This was a 49 percent increase compared to the same period in 2020.

The sales growth is attributed to the increased demand for offerings such as the Ghost and the Cullinan. These models were particularly in high demand in China and the Americas, which accounted for a huge portion of Rolls-Royce sales.

These two models were complemented by the introduction of Black Badge Ghost, a more aggressive take on the luxury nameplate. This has filled the order books for the Ghost and Cullinan, which now go all the way up to the 3rd quarter of this year.

Then there is the Bespoke Collection, which continues to give Rolls-Royce the distinction of exclusivity and individualism. The new creations introduced in 2021 include the Phantom Oribe, created together with Hermes; Phantom Tempus, the Landspeed Black Badge Wraith, and Black Badge Dawn. Of course, who can forget Rolls-Royce’s return to coachbuilding via Boat Tail?

While Rolls-Royce enjoys record sales, it is not about to rest on its laurels. It was previously revealed that the marque is all set to electrify its future with Spectre, the first all-electric offering in its 117-year history.

With this, Rolls-Royce hopes to continue charging into the future with luxury and electricity in the mix.
