SMC continues to feed stranded individuals during MECQ

As we continue to find ourselves in a state of Modified Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, more individuals have also been stranded in various areas of the Metro. To these individuals, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) continues to extend help via free meals.

Some 274 individuals at the Manila North Harbor have been given free lunch and dinner since Monday, August 10, 2020 by the volunteers of Better World Tondo, a feeding and day care entity set up by SMC last year.

These people found themselves stranded due to the MECQ. They were supposed to head back to their provinces of Iloilo, Bacolod, Ozamis, Cebu, Dumaguete, and Cagayan de Oro but were forced to camp out until the lifting of inter-island travel restrictions.

Apart from them, SMC has also fed locally stranded individuals at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. They were given 8,000 of the company’s Nutribun, as well as other meals to provide for their sustenance.

With these efforts, SMC hopes not only to aid those in need but to help them get back on their feet as they go in search of the better tomorrow.
