It was yet another banner year for Suzuki Philippines as the compact vehicle maker returned a 21.17 percent increase in sales for 2019.
Leading the way for Suzuki were the Ertiga, Vitara, and the Celerio. The three vehicles, together with global favorite Jimny, bolstered the Japanese marque’s place among the brands of choice in the Philippine automotive market.
The Ertiga, for instance, finished 2019 with a 34 percent market share. This was followed by the Vitara with 11 percent, while the Celerio mini compact came in at a shade under with 10 percent.
In a related development, Mr. Keichi Suzuki was recently appointed as Vice President and concurrent General Manager of the Automobiles Division. He hopes to replicate or even surpass the previous year’s performance with new vehicle launches and even more aggressive marketing campaigns.
And with the way Suzuki performed during the past year, it looks like it will be another stellar year for the nameplate in 2020.
