Suzuki’s micro plastic collecting device can help clean up our oceans

Mention the name Suzuki and images of either motorcycles or compact vehicles often come to mind. Yet did you know that the Japanese brand is heavily involved in ocean clean up drives? In fact, it has just introduced a micro plastic collecting device that can be fitted on its outboard motors.

As the name suggests, the micro plastic collecting device scoops up plastics that have been broken down into micro plastic particles. By attaching such a contraption to a Suzuki Outboard Motor, it can collect these wastes that would otherwise clog our waterways.

Developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation and Suzuki Marine Department, it is part of a continuing effort to clean up oceans and other bodies of water. Since 2010, Suzuki has been hard at work cleaning up our planet’s oceans.

Here in the Philippines, Suzuki Philippines Inc and the Suzuki Marine Department have been conducting clean up drives in the oceans of Batangas since 2017. It has likewise done the same in other parts of the country such as Bohol, Boracay, and Cebu, just to name a few.

The Suzuki micro plastic collecting device will be introduced across Asia beginning in 2021.
