the Ford Everest has always appealed to a wide audience who want either something rugged, tech-laden, or a little of both. But Ford Philippines thinks this isn’t far-reaching enough, which is why it gives us the new Everest Sport via a digital launch.
The newest Everest variant receives exterior and interior enhancements that give it a more sporty touch. Like the Ranger FX4 that was launched earlier this year, the Everest Sport gets gloss black and dark accents in places like the mesh grille, side-view mirror housings, EVEREST badge on the hood, blacked out tailpipes, and SPORT badge on the tailgate.
Apart from these, it also receives LED projector headlights and daytime running lights. Finishing things off are 20-inch alloys in the aforementioned gloss black hue.
Step inside and you will notice the blue stitching on places like the steering wheel, door trims, dashboard, center console, and seats. This, along with smart access with push-start button, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, and power lift-gate give the new Sport variant a more premium vibe.
As if these aren’t enough, Ford Philippines throws in goodies like Cruise Control, Reverse camera, Roll Stability Control, and 7 airbags (including knee airbag). All these are designed for convenience and safety.
Powering the new Ford Everest Sport is a 2.0-liter turbo diesel motor that puts out 180 bhp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This one is mated to Ford’s 10-speed AT with SelectShft feature. This combo promises potent punch and fuel efficiency.
Apart from the new Everest Sport, Ford Philippines also took the opportunity to reveal an updated Titanium lineup. The 4×4 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo, for instance, now gets a high-mount USB slot while it, along with its 4×2 2.0-liter 4×2 sibling receive new LED projector headlights.
The Ford Everest Sport will be on offer at all Ford dealerships beginning May 22, 2020 and will be priced at P1,868,000. Customers who reserve their unit before May 31, 2020 will receive a free 3-year Scheduled Service Plan.
So, does the Ford Everest Sport appeal to you?
