Talk of a new Squadra Corsa model from Italian super sports car maker Lamborghini has been going around for quite some time now. Well, all this is indeed true as Lamborghini has just revealed its new Essenza SCV12 track only hypercar. And it likewise throws in a new customer experience program to boot.
The Essenza SCV12 is the purest expression of a track focused machine, says Lamborghini. Not only does it have the most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 motor to date, with 830bhp on tap. It likewise makes use of racing technologies and advanced aerodynamics to give drivers the utmost performance on the track.
The new X-Trac 6-speed sequential shift gearbox, for instance, is built as part of the car’s structure. Not only does this help save weight but it also gives the Essenza SCV12 an ultra rigid chassis. This results in it being the first GT race car to be developed with the FIA’s prototype safety standards in mind. The extensive use of carbon fiber also helps achieve a strong yet featherweight race car that doesn’t need a roll-cage.
Apart from this, the striking lines are functional as well. Just as with any Lamborghini, the aerodynamic lines give the car tremendous downforce of 1,200kg at 250km/h. This means outstanding grip and driving dynamics on track while still looking good from any angle.
Speaking of tracks, the lucky 40 owners who will get the chance to acquire this limited edition offering will be part of the exclusive club that offers them privileges such as a specially-designed storage in a new hangar in Sant’Agata Bolognese that also includes a webcam to allow them to monitor their prized possession 24/7 from anywhere in the world, personalized assistance in caring for and transporting the car to the track, and yes, the chance to take their steed through its paces on some of the world’s best FIA-homologated race tracks.
It’s all meant to allow owners to fully experience what this latest Squadra Corsa nameplate has to offer. It is, after all, the essence of what a Lamborghini is all bout—a future-looking machine that has not fogotten its rich motorsport heritage.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 track calendar will begin in 2021.
