With the recent update of the Bentayga, Bentley seems bent on showing off just how capable its premium SUV is, this time with the release of the Bentley Bentayga Speed. The new Speed model boasts more premium features and tech to elevate the driving and riding experience.
From the outside, the new Bentayga Speed gets quad elliptical headlights, a squared-off grille, Dark Chrome on places like the roof rails, headlamps, grille, and the 22-inch alloy rims.
The interior also gets updated with what Bentley calls leather swooshes that can be seen on places like the seat edges, doors, and lower center console. Alcantara is now also offered for the first time on the seat centers, headliner steering wheel, and shift knob.
Apart from the interior trim pieces, the new Bentayga gets a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen complemented by a fully digital instrument cluster that includes a map and media viewer. The infotainment system now features wireless Apple CarPlay and even embedded navigation. Finally, the head-up display now shows info such as street names, and traffic information, just to name a few.
Still powered by the same 6.0-liter W12 motor with 625bhp and 664lb-ft of torque, hooked up to an 8-speed auto, this upscale SUV can go from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds. That 8-speed gearbox is notable in that it has a decoupling torque converter that allows the car to sail while cruising on the highway at a constant clip. This is enhanced by a cylinder deactivation system that can shut down as many as six of the 12 cylinders for the utmost fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Plus, drivers can choose from four different settings using the Drive Dynamics program. One can toggle between Comfort, Sport, a Bentley programmed setting, and Custom where the driver can tinker with carious things to set up the SUV to his liking.
With the Bentley Bentayga Speed, the British luxury brand once again takes the ride and drive experience to the next level, this time with its ultra luxury SUV. It’s now available to order.
