After months of anticipation, Ducati Philippines finally revealed to us the prices of the new Ducati Streetfighter V4 and V4 S. The Philippine launch of the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S was supposed to be held in April but due to the sudden CoVid-19 outbreak, this was postponed until further notice. The good news, however, is the bikes will arrive in the Philippines very soon. Hopefully, shortly after the lifting of the Enhanced Community Quarantine on May 15, 2020. Price for the Streetfighter V4 is pegged at PhP 1,350,000, and the Streetfighter V4 S at PhP 1,550,000.
The Streetfighter V4 is basically a Panigale V4 superbike stripped of its fairings and with high, wide handlebars. Featuring a minimalist full LED headlight design that was said to be inspired by the crazy grin of the Joker, the DC Comics fictional character from which the Ducati Style Center drew inspiration for the new Bologna-built naked rocketship. And why not? With 208 hp at your disposal, you’d be grinning Joker silly with every twist of the throttle. At the heart of the Streetfighter V4 is the 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine rated at 208 hp at 12750 rpm and a maximum torque of 90.71 lb-ft at 11500 rpm. Power can be raised further to 220 hp and torque to 95.87 lb-ft by fitting the full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust system by Akrapovik that also reduces weight by 6 kg.
Like the Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 packs the latest electronics package derived from Ducati’s MotoGP experience. Based on a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU), it instantly detects the bike’s roll, yaw, and pitch angles for optimum control and safety on the road, or the racetrack. Both the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S features ABS Cornering Evo, Ducati Traction Control Evo 2, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control Evo, Ducati Power Launch, Ducati Quick Shift up/down Evo 2, and Engine Brake Control EVO. The difference between the Streetfighter V4 and V4S are minimal. The Streetfighter V4 is equipped with 43 mm Showa BPF fork and Sachs rear shock absorber while the V4 S has 43 mm Ohlins NIX30 event-based fork and Ohlins event-based shock on the rear controlled by the Ducati Electronic Suspension EVO. The Streetfighter V4 also has cast aluminum alloy wheels while the V4 S has lighter Marchesini Aluminum forged wheels.
