The subcompact crossover segment has witnessed quite a fiercely-fought battle, what with buyers being able to get SUV versatility and that “command driving” position without the bulk of a traditional Sport Ute. And this battle is often among the usual suspects. For the month of June, however, a surprise contender has emerged on top, the Geely Coolray, besting others in its class.
Sojitz G Auto Philippines reported selling 154 units of the fully-loaded Coolray. This has allowed the brand to slot in at 10th place in the overall sales charts. For June, it sold 184 units, with the remaining 30 coming from the newly-launched Azkarra.
Moreover, the 184-unit performance saw Geely’s sales grow by 160 percent from the previous month’s 70 units. To date, it has delivered 549 vehicles from January to June 2020.
The Coolray topping the sales charts is one proof that more buyers are now open to brands and products that are new to the market or not from the traditional players yet still have something good to offer. The Coolray does not only boast of cutting-edge features that are seen mostly on more expensive cars but likewise comes in at an affordable price. And for this, consumers seem to be giving it a thumbs up with their wallets
