The refreshed Honda CR-V enters the Philippine market with a more upscale vibe and Honda Sensing

While the main focus during Honda Cars Philippines, Inc.’s Virtual Launch held earlier tonight was arguably the all-new 2021 Honda City, attention was also given to the updated Honda CR-V, which now sports an even more striking exterior, premium features, and advanced safety tech.

The front of the new Honda CR-V, for instance, now features a more prominent Wing-type grille, flanked by LED headlights, as well as a refreshed front bumper design, The rear likewise gets revised taillamps and bumper design while the tailgate is now power operated. The top end SX Diesel 9AT model even boasts hands-free activation. The look is finished of by a panoramic sunroof for the top spec models and 18-inch rims.

Inside, the premium interior vibe continues with upscale touches such as power adjustable front seats, 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile phone charger, available leather seating surfaces, and rear air-con vents with independent controls for the 3rd row seats.

As with the pre-facelifted model, buyers have a choice between a 1.6-liter DOHC i-DTEC turbodiesel with 120bhp and 221lb-ft of torque, mated to a 9-speed AT with electronic pushbutton controller; or a 2.0-liter SOHC i-VTEC four-pot with 154bhp and 139lb-ft, hooked up to a CVT. Only the diesel version, however, can be had with Real-Time four-wheel drive.

And while the new Honda CR-V is pretty much a facelift, the biggest and most significant change has got to be in the area of safety. Honda Cars Philippines Inc now gives its best-selling compact SUV Honda Sensing, a comprehensive suite of safety gear.

Using a variety of sensors and cameras, Honda Sensing gives the CR-V safety kit such as Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and even Auto High Beam function.

These work together with available 6 SRS airbags, LaneWatch, Vehicle Stability Assist, Reverse Camera with Guidelines, and other systems to keep occupants and pedestrians out of harm’s way.

Available in a new shade of Cosmic Blue Metallic, the new Honda CR-V is priced at:

  • V Diesel 9AT (7-Seater): P1,713,000
  • S Diesel 9AT Honda Sensing (7-seater): P1,888,000
