The Toyota Innova gets a timely refresh for 2021

With so many new entries coming into the Multi-purpose Vehicle segment, Toyota Motor Philippines sees it fit to give its best-selling Innova a timely update with new exterior tweaks and added value-for-money features.

It begins with a bolder front end with a new grille, flanked by LED headlamps and foglamps. The rear lamps also get blacked out frames for that sporty yet more classy appearance. The look is finished off by 16-inch wheels on all variants except the top-spec V trim that gets 17-inch wheels and tires.

Step inside and you will be greeted with available two-tone Noble Brown/Black color schemes and leather seats. Just like the current model, the V variant gets second-row Captain’s Seats while smartphone pairing is now made easier with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And Smart Keyless Entry is there for convenience. Plus, you get luxury features like cooled upper glovebox, foldable seatback tray tables, automatic air-con, and ambient lighting.

With Toyota’s penchant for safety, especially as of late, the Innova gets a plethora of airbags (7 for the V variant), ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control. Hill Start Assist, Reverse Camera, and proximity sensors all around.

Powered by the tried-and-tested 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine, owners are assured of potent yet efficient driving on any road condition. Models with the 6-speed AT put out 174bhp and 265lb-ft while those equipped with a 5-speed MT produce 170bhp and 253lb-ft. Drivers can also choose to use either Eco or Sport Power Mode with the Drive Selector switch.

Still assembled at TMP’s Santa Rosa, Laguna plant, the updated 2021 Toyota Innova is now available at all Toyota dealers with the following prices:

  • Innova J MT: P1,186,000
