New Mercedes-Benz S-Class will feature an advanced ambient lighting system

Over the past few months, Mercedes-Benz has been teasing us with various bits about its upcoming, next-generation S-Class sedan. It will, the German luxury carmaker says, have a more advanced Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, as well as cutting-edge safety systems.

Now, the top-of-the executive sedan from Stuttgart is set to premiere with a truly luxurious interior that is meant to cocoon passengers in the lap of luxury. It begins with the Energizing Comfort features package that utilizes systems like the climate control, music, seat massage function, and even fragrance. All these combine to give passengers a relaxed time while in the S-Class.

This is complemented by a new ambient lighting system that uses fiber optics placed in different parts of the cabin. Each fiber optic piece features 250 LED lights to create a continuous flow of illumination. Aside from uplifting or soothing the cabin atmosphere, the new ambient lighting package also works in conjunction with the car’s advanced driver assist systems.

For instance, if a car comes up n your blind spot, thus triggering the Blind Spot Warning. This would naturally warn the driver, this time using the ambient lighting inside the vehicle with a red light pattern.

With this more luxurious interior, customers will really have something to look forward to once the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class hits the global scene on September 2. Watch out as we bring this to you.
