After the Haas Formula 1 team presented its 2020 season race car through digital media last week, it was Scuderia Ferrari’s turn to unveil its 2020 season car, this time in all its metal glory at a glitzy ceremony at the Romolo Wall Theater in Reggion Emilia, Italy.
The car, aptly named SF1000 to signify the Italian marque’s 1,000th Formula 1 race that will be run this year, is set to wear the numbers 16 of Charles Leclerc and 5 that belongs to Sebastian Vettel. As with last year’s season, the Frenchman and German, respectively, will give it their all in hopes of capturing the Driver’s and Constructor’s titles.
Apart from this, the car will also bear Title Sponsor Philip Morris and its Mission Winnow logo, along with other Sponsors Shell, Ray-Ban, Hublot, Kaperski, UPS, and a host of others.
The SF1000 will use a 1600cc turbocharged V6 powerplant that churns out 1,200bhp and will have an Energy Recover System. This will give it added boost when needed, such as when trying to overtake other cars on the track.
Of course, all this will be put to the test once the 2020 F1 season begins in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2020.
