Toyota updates its best-selling Vios for 2021

You may have seen the posts on social media, such as on Toyota Motor Philippines’ own accounts, about the upcoming refreshed Vios. Well, the wait is over as the Japanese carmaker’s Philippine arm has finally revealed the 2020 subcompact sedan via virtual launch.

The facelift begins with a new grille, larger lower air intakes, new LED headlights and daytime running lights, updated foglamps, as well as revised taillights. Keen observers may note that the look is similar to that of its bigger brother, the Corolla Altis.

Apart from the look, however, the new Vios is about giving the customer more value for money. A fully spec’d top-of-the-line Vios G CVT comes with goodies like a 7-inch touchscreen with various connectivity options such as Weblink, Bluetooth, and USB, digital climate control, push-start button with smart keyless entry, power folding side mirrors, and a reverse camera.

In terms of safety, it also get 7 SRS airbags (including driver’s knee airbag), Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and parking sensors. Lower grade models come with 3 SRS airbags.

The 2021 Toyota Vios is still powered by the same pair of VVT-i-equipped motors in 1.3- and 1.5-liter displacements. The smaller engine develops 98bhp and 90lb-ft of torque while the larger motor produces 106bhp and 103lb-ft. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or CVT gearboxes for both engine choices. Plus, drivers can toggle between Eco and Sport modes to suit their driving style. The CVT varaiants even get paddle shifters for more driver involvement.

In terms of fuel economy, TMP claims that under its tests, the 1.3-liter motor will average around 24km/L in mixed conditions while the 1.5-liter mill will do around 20km/L. Of course, this will vary depending on one’s driving style and the road conditions.

TMP is offering the new Vios with flexible financing and ownership packages. One can choose between all-in downpayment, low monthly, and other easy-own plans. It will even serve up leasing packages via its newly-launched KINTO ONE program. And one can avail of the Vios with after-sales packages such as free 20,000km Periodic Maintenance Service and up to 5-years vehicle warranty.

The 2021 Toyota Vios is avaiable in 9 variants with the following prices:
